Many in history have discussed about the pain of
Draupadi for being shared by five men at
the unintentional directive of her mother in law Kunti. She had many
misfortunes including being humiliated in the royal court of Kauravas and her
five sons being killed in a single night by Ashwathama at the end of
Kuruksekhtra battle. However if you get to think of it she enjoyed a few things
which are unparalleled by any Indian woman or for that matter woman of any
other country.
1.She had five handsome virile men whom she could
enjoy according to her mood. She could “ do” with her devars ( brother-in-law)
and bhasurji which is a secret wish of many Indian women . And nobody had the
right to call her any bad name for that , instead people sympathized her for it. She could compare the abilities of these great guys in bed and say it to
the other guy if she was not satisfied. She had the man she loved but had an additional
bonus of four more exceptional men at her disposal for her any need.
2.She had a different man for different needs. If
she had any physical ailments she could go to Nakula or Sahadeva who were
doctors. If she had something to do which was physically challenging she could
and did go to Bhima. Like smashing the bones of somebody who mistreated her or
anybody she disliked, or get a flower from heaven which was not available in earth.
She could go shopping with a guy her mood fitted with.
3 For romantic trysts and husbandly transactions she
could go to Arjuna . She had the prize honor of having the greatest hero as her
husband of whom she could boast of to anybody she liked.
4.For spiritual and philosophical tete-a tete she
could go to Yudhistira. Also if she had a bad mood she used him as a punching
bag which she did quite often. She was fortunate enough to have someone to spit
away about all her misfortunes.
5.She had God Himself , Lord Krishna, as her
personal friend and savior were she in any trouble. Which other woman in the
world had such unparalleled advantage.
In the annals of Mahabharata Draupadi has been
painted as one of the most unfortunate women and somebody you wanted to
sympathize. However if you think quietly all her wishes were fulfilled. She was
a queen of a great prince and possessed all the wealth she wanted at the end.
Her greatest humiliation in life, the attempt of disrobing of her at the royal
court was fully avenged with the death of all the Kauravas including the chief
miscreant Duhsashana the way she liked , she washed her hair with blood from his
chest.
In fact she is the central female in Mahabharata and
the battle of Kurukhsetra happened to a great extent for her and she won in the
end.
